Related Research Interests

My research program is centered on the emotional and interpersonal experiences of people at work. I have studied people in emotionally-charged occupations and how they leaned on their coworkers to cope, commiserate, and celebrate together. I have also looked at the role of affect and relationships in building resilience and effective decision-making in crisis situations (including the Covid-19 pandemic). In upcoming research, I will continue to examine the antecedents and consequences of positive relationships at work, particularly in teams. For example, I am currently studying the role of virtual socializing in facilitating team cohesion and reducing workplace loneliness.
