Yaoxi is a doctoral student in Organisational Behaviour at the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at Imperial College Business School. She uses social psychological approach to study social interactions at work. Specifically, she probes into topics including conversation dynamics, sense of self, relationship building, impression management, and leadership communication. She examines these topics with experimental methods and cutting-edge computational methods (e.g., NLP, machine learning). In her current projects, she explores how people can achieve better outcomes in networking conversations using NLP methods, and how people navigate self-orientation and other-orientation in social contexts in organizations.
